Shaefer Farms Fright Fest

My quest to attend as many haunted house attractions as possible took me to Rt 523 in Flemington, NJ where Shaefer Farms was having a three-pronged Halloween attack! I will review each of these wonderful prongs individually.

1) Haunted Hayride - this was largely cheesey, but it was a pretty funny cheesey. We covered a huge distance and it lasted a really long time, which was nice, because it was nice and cool outside. Bonus points for random simpsons characters showing up in it, and for a ridiculous sketch with a clown. Not scary at all, though, except for one really loud noise.
2) Corn Maze - this was pretty awesome. It started out annoying because we got off the hayride last and were stuck behind people who were slow and bunched up in the maze. That ended when a dark figure ran at us with a chainsaw through the corn. I jumped out of the way at first, and sort of landed on the people in front of us, and then I just ran them over, partly running away from the chainsaw, and partly as an excuse to get by them. The scariest part was maggie yelling really loud and destroying my ear.
3) Haunted circus - CLOWNS! CLOWNS! This was pretty awesome, too. There were some clownamatronic devices (robot clowns) and a lot of mist and strobe lights that made it really hard to see when clowns were about to jump out at you. I was startled by numerous clowns and I laughed a lot.

Overall: Pretty cool. I actually liked this better than either of the ones I went to last year (the Philly prison and the Haunted Hotel in Newtown). Only downside was that the corn maize was muddy.
