Shady Brook Farms' HorrorFest

Sadly, my Haunted-House-Hopping spree ended here due to an incredibly busy second half of October. But at least it ended on a positive note. After celebrating my birthday with pumpkins and Indian food, I went to Shady Brook Farm in Yardley, PA with Maggie and Mike.
Again, the attraction was broken into three distinct portions, not unlike a hockey game. The difference being, I can't sit through an entire hockey game. Although both are pretty bloody, I guess.

1) Hayride of Horrorâ„¢ - Totally fun. It started out really strong as we rode past a graveyard with some zombies crouching over bodies and ripping out and eating bloody chunks of them. That ruled. I mean, seriously - this is exactly what I have been looking for out of a haunted house attraction. Everybody knows zombies crave human flesh. So why not just show them in action? There were a lot of other cool parts to this and a ton of monstery things that chased the tractor and climbed up on the hay carts to assault us. They did a good job with the strategy of distract you to one side and sneak up on you from the other.
2) Barn of Horror - Also a lot of fun. A few really awesome props and costumes, including a wall mural of guts. Also, it was inside a legitimately really old barn. There was also an awesomely disoerienting black-lit room with a dude who was part of the wall in it. Pretty sweet. Perhaps most horrifying was the room with the dead girl from The Ring in it - simply because it reminded me how frighteningly awful the acting was in that film.
3) Alien Invasion in 3D - This sounded pretty hot, but Mike had to go home so we bailed and didn't do this one. Perhaps next year!

Overall: A ton of fun. Definitely happy we did this one on my birthday. It was well put together and had some of the kinds of things I've been hoping to see in haunted houses. I don't know what I'll do for the next 11 months until these things start up again, dammit.
